Hello!
Ready to add more walks, wet-kisses, and love into your life?
The Imperial Valley is located 125 miles east of San Diego, CA, 70 miles west of Yuma, AZ and 30 miles north of Mexico. We are located in a rural and agricultural area along the US/Mexico International Border Region.
Being so remotely located has meant limited opportunities and resources when compared with other shelters and rescues in the urban and coastal cities.
The Humane Society of Imperial County serves and works in conjunction with local cities and their municipal animal control agencies. We currently collaborate with the cities of Brawley, Calipatria, El Centro, Holtville, Imperial and Westmorland. When the lost or stray animals that they pick up are not claimed by their owners, the animals are transferred into our care. From there, they are adopted out or sent to rescue groups outside of the Imperial Valley.
We work with outside shelters and rescue groups so these animals are given every chance possible at finding their furever homes. Our goal is to prevent the needless euthanasia of happy, healthy and adoptable animals.
We also pride ourselves in our efforts to curve the ever growing population of unwanted pets by providing access to low-cost spay and neuter services to our community.
“We adopted 2 cats recently while visiting PETCO because they seemed healthy, happy, and ready to go home and play. It only took my daddy a few minutes to complete the paperwork”

“I donate to the Humane Society of Imperial County because of their accountability and transparency processes including their Board”
